You Need to Know

You really need to know this, trust me. Dissonance is not your average RPG. We do not permit members within our ranks who cannot use their brain and form a coherent sentence. We do not allow chatspeak, for most of us loathe it to our very core. We do not accept those who are too novice to be able to write out full paragraphs about their character. We certainly do not support those who simply "ship" the same character from RP to RP, seeming never to know the idea of innovation. Essentially, if you do not consider yourself an advanced roleplayer, save yourself.

We're a Little Darker

Yes, we are. We take things and shove them closer to reality, we're twenty-somethings who want to express ourselves, and our troubles, in a form of art. We're not all doom-and-gloom, but certainly if you cannot handle cursing, pokémon legitimately getting hurt, an overabundance of death, and the presence of war, perhaps you need to move to a happier place. Don't get us wrong, we can be happy, just know we're also a bit real, too. We change up things, we substitute our own ideas where there are none, and, remember: This our brainchild. This is, essentially, our own child. You mess her up, we will mess you up.

Okay. I'm done sounding scary. Onward!

Vogelgeist is twenty-three years old, a Biology major, and certified EMT. She essentially is the jack-of-all-trades, dealing with all of the coding, story, character approval--basically, she does everything. Most of the artwork featured on the website and pokédex is that of her own, and most everything written on or about Dissonance is her own creation as well.

Global Moderators

Koosemoose is Vogelgeist's IRL friend whom she pulled on just to participate, and soon enough he became a moderator. As he states in his introduction, he is an aspy--not the asshole kind, mind you--so sometimes he comes off as "cold", or he'll have a syntax error. He is also a programmer, and helps VG out when she's being derpy. Oh, and he's a giant, snuggly groudon, just like the picture seen here.

 

Teh Haru, also known as Jes, is the hottest chick around. She's in the Air Force, stationed in Japan (how cool is that?!) and she can kick your ass in fifteen different ways and counting. The U.S. government has their seal stamped on her butt, so occasionally she'll go MIA from here to be IA over there. Oh, and she works on aircrafts, so she has lots of places to store your sorry ass if you cross us. :D

NPCs

The Narrator is just that, it is our NPC account that we use for everything story- and rpg-related. Oh, and the Narrator loves Mike. And you, because you taste good with ketchup.

Just imagine the narrator from the Pokémon series talking while you read. Really. That, or a squeaky, hyperactive, overly caffeinated twenty-something. 

 

The Gym Leader account is exclusively used to play Cryto's gym leaders in the competition with Trainers. The character will be noted at the top of the post in large letters, so you know who is in that particular RP. Vogelgeist considered making individual accounts per each gym leader, but decided she rather just see a very hot picture of Brock every time she posted as a Gym Leader. Anyone who changes or complains about this shall suffer the wrath of her team of attack Bichons.

 

Professor Hickory is a suave son-of-a-bitch, so he got his own account. The Gym Leaders are jealous about that, too! That, or maybe they want to sleep with him... Who knows?

Hickory is Cryto's professor, and who all trainers run to when they want their starters. He travels a lot, so don't be surprised if he randomly ends up in your RP! Oh... and beware if you're a woman...

Dissonance is a mature pokémon RPG birthed from the ashes of another RPG, and revived by the lone remaining member of the original cast of four that started the role play known as Pokémon Journey. After many years and many upsets, Vogelgeist prevailed through all and became the owner of PJ. Two years ago, she decided to entirely revamp the RPG, giving it a new name, new look, and entirely new approach. She has tweaked and tuned the metaplot and storyline to (hopefully) make Dissonance the most enjoyable new-region RPG available on the market for elite players.

Dissonance is all about making the game of Pokémon a bit more realistic, a bit more dark, and a lot more WTF. As if the damn thing wasn't WTF already.
